Penny has a science degree majoring in Biology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Science from the University of Canterbury. She has worked in the New Zealand Dairy Industry for 13 years, including 5 years as a manager of a Health Research Platform for a brand of products marketed to Australasian and Asian consumers. She has also worked in central and local government and held community liaison roles in rural North Canterbury.
Penny works closely with Hannah Ritchie, Senior Environmental Advisor, to support NZPork’s environmental work programme. This includes submitting on new environmental legislation that may impact on the rights of pork producers to farm and assisting farmers with implementing environmental best practice on-farm.
