PIC is one of New Zealand’s leading pig production and genetics businesses with five farm units located at various sites in New Zealand.
We currently have a full-time permanent position for a pig specialist. This position is on our intensive indoor multiplication unit in Selwyn, Canterbury.
If possible you will have proven pig husbandry skills, a passion for working with pigs and be keen to contribute towards the achievement of key production targets however full training will be given to the suitable applicant. You will require a good level of written and numeric skills to enable accuracy in the recording of farm data and breeding statistics, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, be physically fit, have your own vehicle, and a drivers’ licence.
There are opportunities to participate in further on job training and encourage development within the pork industry.
We also require no previous convictions, and all positions could be subject to drugs and alcohol testing and pre-employment medical check.
Company biosecurity protocols require no contact with either domestic or feral pigs or shared living arrangements with people in contact with outside domestic or feral pigs.
