PIC is one of New Zealand’s leading pig production and genetics businesses with six farm units and one Gene Transfer Centre located at various sites in New Zealand.
We are looking for a pig specialist who has preferably had experience with boars and A.I. collection and processing, breeding stock off-testing and selection of breeding stock.
A knowledge of Genetics would be beneficial, though on the job training will be given to the right person. A flexible approach, willingness to take on challenges, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, be physically fit, your own vehicle, and a drivers’ licence are all necessary requirements for the role. You will also require a good level of written and numeric skills to enable accuracy in the recording of farm data and breeding statistics. Must be able to work weekends and public holidays on a roster system.
Also no previous convictions, and all positions could be subject to drugs and alcohol testing, and a pre-employment medical check.
