    New Zealand Pork, Bacon and Ham Competitions

    Entries for the New Zealand Pork, Bacon and Ham competition are now closed and the judging has taken place. An Awards Dinner to announce and celebrate the winners will be held in conjunction with the New Zealand Pork conference in Christchurch on Monday 24 July.

    The 16th Biennial Australasian Pig Science Association (APSA) conference is to be held at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne.


    Winners of the 2017 Pork, Bacon & Ham awards have been announced. The Supreme Champions from the evening were:

    Producer of the Decade - Ellesmere Butchery

    Supreme Bacon - Cameron Harrison Butchery

    Supreme Ham - Aussie Butcher New Lynn 

    Supreme Pork - Grey Lynn Burchers

    Region 2 Director Election update

    The result of the election of one producer representative for Region 2 was David Lawton.

    Therefore, David Lawton has been duly elected producer representative for Region 2 on the New Zealand Pork Industry Board. This position is effective from 1 August 2017.
