Xanthe Clarke - Experienced stockperson

I have a great deal of practical experience with pigs, having run my own small free-range production unit. I have also attended a number of courses and am busy studying for an Advanced Certificate in Animal Husbandry.

My family live in New Zealand and I am moving to New Zealand in December. I am looking for a position in the Christchurch/northern Canterbury area, preferably, to start work in January/February 2011. I would be happy to provide references and other documentation if required.

Super keen to get into the pig farming industry

I am super keen to get into the pig farming industry.
I am 19 years old and am currently employed as internal customer services for a lighting company in Auckland and have been for the last 3 years,
I have never worked on a pig farm but am soooooo keen do do so.
I would consider any jobs in the Northland and Waikato regions

    Qualifications:
  • NCEA level 1
  • National certificate in distribution level 3
  • Electrical service technician paper A
  • OSH Forklift license
  • Work place first aid

I am aware that none of these have any thing to do with pig farming.

Carpenter and Farm Worker at VUDA Pigegry Ltd.
I enjoy working with pigs and have experience in the following areas:

  • MATING - Both natural and using artificial insemination
  • FARROWING SHED - Maintaining the hygiene of the shed, ensuring correct piglet and sow feeding
  • Medicating pigs - delivering the right medicine at the right time (Iron, Oxytet, Parvo virus, E coli)
  • WEANER SHED - Feeding weaner feed, water blasting and disinfecting the pens, maintaining correct stock density
  • GROWER SHED - Feeding grower feed through auger, washing and injecting sick pigs (penicillin)
  • MIXING - mixing the right feed for optimum growth rates
  • AUGER FEEDING - Installation and maintenance of auger feeder
  • PLUMBING - Maintenance of good water supply and general plumbing

Mr Simon Cole, Director of VUDA Piggery has agreed to be my referee.
